The Scarecrow has been my favorite comic book villain for the longest time, ever since I was first introduced to him in my childhood when Batman the Animated Series first aired on TV. But what was it that made him stand out so much? Why not Joker, or Riddler, or Penguin? Why was it always the Scarecrow I looked forward to seeing again whenever a new episode aired? Why was it that every time a new Batman movie was announced I hoped the Scarecrow would be the main villain(given how Batman and Robin turned out, it was probably for the better he was left out)?
